Browser Scripting Disabled
  Browser Scripting Disabled
This installation of Blackboard Learning SystemTM(Release 6) requires web browser software that supports an ECMAScript client-side scripting language such as JavaScript or JScript. The system has been unable to verify that you are using browser software that supports client-side scripting.

You may need to install supported browser software on your computer to use Release 6

If you are using Microsoft®'s Internet Explorer or Netscape®'s Navigator/Communicator, this alert may have been triggered because scripting has been disabled in your browser. To enable scripting in your browser:

For Internet Explorer

  1. Select Internet Options from your browser's Tools Menu
  2. Select the Security Tab, and click on the 'Custom Level' button.
  3. Scroll down to the 'Scripting' Section, and select either of the last two options under 'Active Scripting' - either 'Enable' or 'Prompt'.
  4. Click 'Ok' to Close the Security Settings dialog box.

NOTE Depending on your institution's set-up of Release 6, you may need to repeat steps 3 & 4 for more than one 'Security Zone'.
For example, if you are connecting from a computer inside the same firewall or network as the Release 6 machine, you would select the 'Local Intranet Zone'. If you are making a connection across the internet from another location, you would select the 'Internet Zone'. In some cases, you may need to do both.

  5. Click 'Apply' and 'Ok' to close the Internet Options dialog box.
For Netscape Navigator/Communicator
  1. Select Preferences from your browser's Edit Menu.
  2. Select Advanced from the list in the left-hand pane of the dialog box.
  3. Make sure that the primary 'Enable JavaScript' box is checked.
  4. Click 'Ok' to close the dialog box.
Once you have re-enabled Scripting, you will be able to Click 'Ok' on this page to return to Blackboard Learning SystemTM(Release 6).
